MIDI Controllers are commonly used by audio users who are tired of editing music on the computer through a keyboard and mouse instead of the standard knobs and faders of a common audio system or a musical instrument. 4. Get your sequencer running. This process is a little bit more complicated that the last three parts if you are using a hardware sequencer, because the Midi is controlled on multiple servers at one time.  It is highly recommended that you use computer software as a digitalized sequencer, because they will be able to record virtually unlimited tracks without the need to fuss over a complicated looking device.
